SEND Teaching Assistant – Eye, Suffolk

Strategy Education are working closely with a school in Eye, Suffolk, that are looking to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant.

This school is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced SEND worker, to support teachers in the development of specific learning programmes for children. The chosen individual needs to be patient, calm and willing to learn as the school has very good professional development opportunities.

Required qualifications needed to be a SEND Teaching Assistant:
• 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths, at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent.
• Experience in supporting children of the relevant age.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Be flexible and open to change.
• Be sensitive and understanding.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to use a mix of resources to develop the child’s learning.

Duties of a SEND Teaching Assistant will include:
• To look after the child’s, physical, social, and emotional welfare.
• To provide a safe and healthy environment.
• To follow safeguarding procedures.
• To prepare learning materials under the supervision of the teacher.
• To build up a trusting relationship.
