We are seeking an experienced and motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join a friendly and supportive primary school on a part-time, maternity cover basis.
One of the current SENCos is on maternity leave until at least the end of the Summer term, and the successful candidate will work alongside the existing SENCo, who is in school four and a half days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident professional who is able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
The Role
• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
• Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies
• Support teachers with inclusive practice and differentiation
• Maintain and develop EHCPs, IEPs, and SEND records
• Monitor pupil progress and ensure statutory requirements are met
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and inclusion strategies
The Ideal Candidate
• Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it)
• Has proven experience in a SENCo role
• Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice
• Is organised, proactive, and highly effective in communication
• Can work collaboratively as part of a leadership and inclusion team
