We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive secondary school in South East London. This is a long-term role starting ASAP or January 2026, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and provides excellent support for students with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. You’ll be working closely with the SENCO and class teachers to provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping students reach their full potential both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with a range of SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assist teachers in adapting learning materials and resources

Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and outside professionals

Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

Previous experience supporting students with SEN (school-based preferred)

A patient, caring and flexible approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion

A valid enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
