Teaching Assistant Required
To provide support for pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) within a nurturing and inclusive primary school environment. The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction of the class teacher and will promote students’ academic, social, and emotional development, helping each child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering learning activities tailored to pupils with MLD.
• Support pupils’ access to the curriculum through differentiated instruction and adapted resources.
• Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning and encourage progress.
• Support the use of educational tools, assistive technologies, and communication aids as needed.
Pupil Support
• Foster positive relationships and provide encouragement to build pupils’ self-esteem and confidence.
• Support pupils in developing social skills, independence, and self-care abilities.
• Implement strategies and interventions designed to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
• Assist with managing pupil behaviour in line with school policy, using positive and restorative approaches.
Collaborative Working
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support.
• Contribute to the observation, assessment, and recording of pupils’ progress.
• Participate in regular meetings and contribute to reviews of pupils’ EHCPs and individual targets.
Classroom Organisation
• Prepare, maintain, and organise learning materials and resources.
• Help create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.
• Supervise pupils during transitions, playtimes, and off-site activities as required.
