SENCO vacancy

Strategy Education are working with a secondary school in Southend in Sea, Essex who are recruiting for a Head of Inclusion / SENCO to start September 2025.

In this post, you will oversee the school’s provision for all students with learning difficulties and disabilities, and those with medical needs.

The school has a history of providing an excellent education to young people in the local area Southend and its surrounding areas. It provides an education for girls from 11-16 years of age and has a mixed sixth form.

High expectations and educational standards alongside all-encompassing pastoral care make this school an incredible community to work and learn in. Staff work hard to recognise and further develop, deepen and nurture the individual talents, abilities and possibilities of all students.

The school was graded “Good” at its last Ofsted inspection.

The school is located close to Westcliff on Sea train station on the C2C line from London and there is free parking available to staff.

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with excellent subject knowledge and strong teaching skills, someone who is able to build positive relationships with staff and all learners and be committed to raising the attainment of your students.

Ideally, the appointed candidate will have The National Award for SEN Coordination (or a willingness to complete it if not yet held), have experience of leading a SEND provision and have an understanding of current SEND legislation and guidance.  The school also welcomes applications from those aspiring to become a Head of Inclusion/SENCO.
