This role is in a 2 form entry, Good Ofsted rated Primary School in Southend-On-Sea.
For this particular role you will need to:
• To have a thorough and up to date knowledge of the teaching of your subject(s), and take account of wider curriculum developments, which are relevant to your work
• To plan lessons and sequences of lessons consistently and effectively, to meet pupils’ individual needs
• To use a range of appropriate strategies consistently and effectively for teaching and classroom management
• To use information consistently and effectively about prior attainment to set well-grounded expectations for pupils, and monitor progress to give clear and constructive feedback
• To ensure that because of your teaching, your pupils achieve well in relation to their prior attainment, making progress as good as or better than similar pupils nationally
• To take responsibility for your own professional development and use outcomes to improve your teaching and pupils’ learning
• To make an active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school
• To be an effective professional who challenges and supports pupils to do their best.
• To contribute to the pastoral care, safety, and welfare of all students
• To be aware of the professional duties, standards, and the statutory framework within which you work ensure there is a strategic plan for their phase to raise teaching and learning outcomes.
• Monitor pupil progress across the Phase, analyse data and report to staff, Governors, and outside agencies
• Provide support to staff in the development of their phase, that clearly improves outcomes for the children within their charge.
• Work in partnership with other leaders and SLT to maintain aspects of Richmond, beyond their phase, such as marking and feedback, ISP’s, and more able plans.
• Contribute to the system of self-evaluation and school development planning.
• Lead and be responsible for their phase, including cross-school and phase links
• Teach a class of pupils, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
• Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching and support staff, parents, and governors.
• Support initiatives decided by the Headteacher and other Senior Leaders.
• Assist the Headteacher and Deputy Head teachers in ensuring parents and pupils are well informed about developments in the Phase.
• Liaise with other Phase Leaders to coordinate and organise events such as theme weeks, visitors, special assemblies etc.
• Lead a team of teachers and learning support assistants in the Phase so that standards are raised to achieve the school’s targets
• Ensure that resources in the Phase are maintained at a level and in a way to deliver the curriculum effectively
• Co-ordinate the management and support of pupils working in the Phase.
• Be involved in the organisation, planning and delivery of assemblies as and when necessary.
• Provide two references, one including your current employer and the other from the past 3 years
• Have an Enhanced DBS Certificate on the update service
